For best results, all Radiata timber should be No.1
grade. check with your Carters branch. As soon as the timber
arrives on the site, it should be protected from the
weather. Stack it at least 150mm off the ground ensuring it
is level, straight and covered.
All fixings (bolts, nails, screws etc) should be
galvanised to prevent unsightly rust stains.
After 6 months, tighten all bolts and screws to
compensate for timber shrinkage.
When cutting or notching posts these faces must be coated
with a preservative. Ask your branch for the appropriate
product.
